For today’s meditation, I have taken the Word from the book of Psalms.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man that trusteth in Him (Psalm 34:8 KJV)
David wrote these words during a very difficult season in his life. He had just escaped from King Abimelech by pretending to be insane. Even though his circumstances were far from ideal, David found reason to praise the Lord and declare His goodness.
This verse is more than an invitation. It's a testimony. David had personally tasted God’s mercy, protection, and faithfulness in the middle of danger and fear. And from that experience, he encourages us to do the same.
To “taste and see” means to move beyond simply knowing about God it means to encounter Him personally. Just like you can’t fully describe the sweetness of honey without tasting it, you can’t fully grasp the goodness of God until you seek Him, trust Him, and experience Him for yourself.
No matter what you are facing today whether it is fear, uncertainty, or hardship remember this: God’s goodness is not far off. It’s available to you right now. He invites you to come to Him with everything your burdens, your brokenness, your praise, and your prayers and promises that you will not be disappointed.
The second part of the verse declares, “Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.” Trust is the doorway to tasting God’s goodness. Trust doesn’t remove all life’s trials, but it assures us that we will never walk through them alone. The more we trust Him, the more we experience Him and the more we experience Him, the more we see how faithful and good He truly is.
Prayer
Lord, I thank you for speaking through this word and reminding us of your goodness. May those who read this post be blessed and experience your love and grace in their lives. As we taste and see that you are good, may our hearts be filled with gratitude and our spirits be renewed. Help us to continue seeking you through daily devotion and prayer, and may our lives be a reflection of your goodness. Amen.
Have A blessed day in the Lord Jesus Christ 😊
In Christ
